That Japan is synonymous with sophistication and minimalism is proven by the work of floral designer Yuko Takagi. The subtlety of her finely crafted creations, composed with care and precision, demonstrates the same aesthetic as traditional Ikebana art.

In addition to her studies at the Jane Packer Flower School and the Hana-ami Gestaltungsschule in Tokyo, Takagi perfected her education at various international seminars, including with German master Gregor Lersch. Meanwhile, Yuko successfully runs her own school for floral design and travels the world as a demonstrator. International recognition came with a number of prestigious awards; Takagi deservedly snatched up the 'Golden Leaf' in Stichting Kunstboeks International Floral Art 2006/2007. In this special monograph, this standard-bearer of Japanese aesthetics bundles a number of her works for the first time.
