 Ilse Beunen lived in Japan
from 1989-2000 and studied Sogetsu Ikebana, a form of modern flower
arrangement. Upon return to Antwerp, she opened Atelier Kadõ. The
specialties of Atelier Kadõ include:
- Flower arrangement demonstrations,
courses and workshops
- ikebana (Japanese
Floral Arrangement) courses, materials and vases
- Floral Design
for events, businesses, display windows, marriages and receptions

From June 23rd until June 26th the Japanese garden of Gallery Tolkantoor is open to visitors.
After a stroll in the garden you are welcome to visit the gallery to see the work of 4 artists:
Ceramist Christiane Van Dijck, Metal Designer Carlos Betsens,
Photographer Ben Huybrechts and Ikebana Artist Ilse Beunen!

The Winter
period is full of symbolism

Japanese Gardens

 Ilse Beunen completed her studies in garden
architecture in 1989 in Belgium and then she left for Japan. There, she
lived and worked for 11 years. For seven years, she trained under the
esteemed Japanese garden architect Suzuki Shigeichi. She shares this
knowledge with people seeking an authentic Japanese garden for the home
and public spaces.
